In this video, He full address His proclamation of a National Day of Mourning – no work, no business, no administration – a day of silence, reflection and dignity in Cameroon and the diaspora. The call for prayer in churches, mosques and all places of worship, turning grief into a spiritual and civic act of resistance. His promise to create a support fund for victims and families, and to dedicate the rest of his life to the “truth of the ballot box.” The hard line: “I will not back down. I will not negotiate. I will never capitulate.” What does that mean for the struggle ahead? How this moment connects to 1955, May 26, 1990, 2008 and all the unrecognized martyrs of Cameroon’s long fight for freedom. This is not a call to violence.

It is a call to: Honour the dead Stay disciplined and non-violent Organize smarter, not just react in anger Keep the struggle rooted in justice, truth and the will of the people If you care about Cameroon’s future after the 2025 elections, you need to hear and understand this speech. Join the conversation: In the comments, tell us: After this call for a National Day of Mourning, what should Cameroonians do next – peacefully but firmly – to make their votes count?
