Why This Is Important

 

PPG refuses to recall leaded paint in Cameroon

 

Seigneurie, a subsidiary of PPG Industries, a Pittsburgh-headquartered company is manufacturing paint in Cameroon that they know contains unsafe lead limits. 

 

According to a paint sample study done in Cameroon last year, nine of 24 Seigneurie paints bought in stores contained lead concentrations of more than 300 parts per million and eight of those had lead concentrations above 1,800 parts per million.

 

One Seigneurie paint, for metal application, contained 500,000 parts per million of lead, or half its volume, according to the paint survey by CREPD, a Cameroon-based nonprofit.

That's why I created a petition to Robert Mehrabian, Chairman, President and Chief Executive and Jeremy Neuhart, for them to recall all leaded paint from Cameroon, with immediate effect.

PPG's manufacturing and selling lead laced paint in Cameroon is not only immoral, but irresponsible and is clearly against its own corporate ethics!
